Ellie Lawson fits in well with the new wave of singer/songwriters using electronics as the bases for their sound, but she isn't afraid to pick up an acoustic, either. Ellie's music is both breezy and soulful. You can dance to this just as easily as you can become introspective listening to her voice. The first song on the album is called L.A. and this music is the perfect soundtrack for a night on the town in a hip city. It also wouldn't sound bad as a Sunday morning come down record. And that's a good balance.
