benzos - morning stanzas
Benzos
Morning Stanzas
Stinky Records

Lush, melodic and atmospheric, this NYC band sounds almost exactly like another one from across the pond, with maybe a little less whininess in their vocals and a little more beat. But basically the same as that band that blew up internationally a few years ago for essentially copping off Radiohead…you know, the one whose lead singer had a baby with Gwenyth Paltrow, who they named after a fruit…you know who I'm talking about.

Anyway, Benzos do the whole boring emotional thing even better than those Brits, so if you're into that sort of thing, buy this CD - it's a solid recording. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to see them play live, though, and if you like a little more rock with your pop, it may just end up leaving you feeling…well, cold. But it's certainly worth a play.
