Hy80 makes stoner rock and '60s/'70s psychedelica sound as good together as chocolate and peanut butter tastes. The guitars are loud and dirty enough to give the music real muscle, while the vocals and production give the tunes that hazy glow of old Kinks or Humble Pie records. If drugs are your thing, you can get stoned or trip to this record, which is pretty damn crazy if you think about it. This is music that wise record store clerk with the graying ponytail at your local mom and pop music shop would dig.
