tryst - kids of big stars
Tryst
Kids Of Big Stars
(Limbo Music)

Kids of Big Stars is the perfect soundtrack to a Sunday drive on a brisk, sunny winter's day. Tryst sounds a bit like an American Belle And Sebastian with a love of shoegazer chic who are not afraid to dip their feet into a bit of chamber pop. Crystal clear melodies and subtle syncopation make for a mellow, but far from uninteresting listen. Perhaps the best aspect of the eleven songs on this album is that they are not twee. It saves the music from cheesiness and is a welcome relief from some of the more "precious" pop out there. This is record may sound like an effortless accomplishment, but it was crafted with an honest heart and a deep love of songwriting.
